Trivia

The lion is called the "King of the Beasts" and "King of the Jungle", but we will not meet any lion in the jungle. The natural habitat of the lion is the African savannah, which is a large open space covered with grass and with very sporadic trees. We can often come across expressions that describe the characteristics of a lion: "brave as a lion" or "strong as a lion". Such phrases result from the status of the lion, considered in many periods of history as a symbol of courage and power.

Lions have the most powerful and loudest roar of any cat in the world. The sound is so loud that it can be heard up to 8 km away! It is used for defensive and communication reasons. It is also a tool for marking territory, a way for animals to show strength so that they do not come closer, but also to call other lions from their pride with their roar.

Lions sleep very often, sometimes up to 20 hours a day. Because of the hot climate in which they live, they cannot overheat. The human body is protected by sweat. Lions, on the other hand, do not sweat, so they spend most of the day resting in the shade.
